Diversity & Inclusion Recruitment

Our annual intake of interns, graduates, and experienced hires provides an outstanding opportunity to broaden the range of cultures and backgrounds of our employees, therefore contributing to the continued success of Barclays Capital.

In order to ensure that we maximise our opportunities to recruit top talent from diverse talent pools, we:

  • Encourage applicants from all degree disciplines so that we can provide diverse perspectives and solutions to our clients
  • Sponsor and support a variety of student and diversity organisations to broaden the scope of our candidate pool
  • Develop tailored internal and external programming that highlights skills and competencies necessary for candidates to be successful
  • Collaborate with Diversity & Inclusion to emphasise the importance, strength, and support of our Employee Network Groups.

We're always eager to widen the scope of our search for excellence. With that in mind, we've developed a number of workshops and programmes to increase awareness of various career paths in financial services:

“See for Yourself” Insight Days

If you’re wondering what really happens at Barclays Capital, come along and find out. See for yourself is a one-day introduction to our business and an eye-opener to the many career options available in investment banking. Some of our Insight Day events are female and ethnicity focused.

Diversity partners

We're proud to have relationships with organisations such as SEO, Rare and Xcel, all of whom are instrumental in our efforts to source exceptional diverse talent.

Diversity events

We support a number of interbank or inter-firm events including:

  • Cityview
  • Freshlook
  • Inside & Out
  • ThisAbility

University relationships

Another important way of attracting a diverse talent pool is through our strong relationships with student societies. We partner with them to assist with their on-campus activities, as well as to gain the opportunity to interact with a wide range of undergraduate and MBA students through networking events.
