Networks

The internal employee networking groups (ENG) help to foster a more inclusive working environment offering employees the chance to make a real difference to the culture at Barclays Capital. The employee networks focus on increasing career development, networking, recruiting and philanthropic opportunities.

Cultural Awareness Network (CAN)

The Cultural Awareness Network (CAN) aims to raise cultural awareness and to maximise the potential of our increasingly diverse workforce. CAN helps to enable employees to build deeper relationships with their colleagues and the clients around the world. Key initiatives include cultural celebrations such as Chinese New Year, Diwali and Black History Month as well as events for recruiting, networking, external speakers and philanthropic initiatives.

Disability Awareness Forum (DAF)

The Disability Awareness Forum (DAF) aims to promote disability awareness across the business and to develop an environment where all employees, regardless of background, can achieve success and fulfilment in their careers at Barclays Capital. The forum organises awareness and educational seminars for disabled employees, managers and carers as well as organises career fairs and recruitment events for disabled students. In addition, the DAF works in partnership with the facilities teams to enhance accessibility for all employees, clients and guests.

Parents and Family Network (PFN)

The Parents and Family Network (PFN) aims to support employees who have family, parenting or carer responsibilities. The network provides educational seminars on related topics as well as facilitated discussions where employees share their experiences and challenges. Seminars have covered topics such as first aid for children, internet safety, learning to read, eldercare, paternity and bullying. In addition, the PFN provides key information about the Barclays Capital policies and benefits for families.

SPECTRUM

The Barclays Capital Spectrum network aims to support a positive, inclusive working environment for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) employees and to position the firm as a leading employer for potential recruits. Spectrum’s main focus is to contribute to campus recruitment efforts, provide networking opportunities across the firm and to increase awareness through events and external speakers.

Women’s Initiative Network (WiN)

The Women’s Initiative Network (WiN) aims to create and maintain a strong network to support and promote the recruitment, development and retention of women across the firm. WiN creates initiatives for career and leadership development, networking, external speaking, women’s wellness and supports campus recruitment efforts to attract more women.

The Global Diversity and Inclusion team sponsors employee networking groups across Barclays Capital offices in the United Kingdom, the United States, Asia Pacific and Europe. All employee networks are open to all employees.
